Burson U.S. builds upon momentum with new hire and leadership appointments

NEW YORK, July 16, 2026 - Burson, the global communications leader purpose-built to create value for clients through reputation, today announced two key appointments and a new hire that reflect the agency's commitment to scaling key areas of growth and aligning its leadership structure to harness a period of significant momentum.

Burson's Chief Client and Growth Officer, Beth Marrano, has been named U.S. Chief Growth and Marketing Officer. Marrano has been instrumental in shaping the agency's growth strategy, strengthening client relationships and helping drive the successful launch and evolution of Burson. In this newly created role, Marrano will build on that momentum, leading Burson's marketing, communications and growth agenda across the U.S.

Additionally, Burson has named Dan Susong as U.S. Chief Client Officer. Susong, who has served as a Global Client Leader since 2022, is a highly respected executive with deep client service expertise and a proven track record of building trusted relationships within Burson's client portfolio. In this new role, he will oversee and continue to strengthen the agency's approach to client leadership and engagement across its largest U.S. relationships, helping drive client excellence, executive engagement, adoption of Burson's innovation portfolio and long-term success.

"As Burson U.S. experiences a new chapter of growth, we are making investments in our talent and leadership to ensure we have the right organizational structure in place to support the agency's long-term ambitions," said U.S. CEO, Craig Buchholz. "Beth and Dan have played significant roles in the scaling of Burson to-date, and this evolution allows Burson to create dedicated focus across growth and client leadership."

Burson also named Matthew Wagner as Executive Vice President and Global Client Leader. He joins Burson from Edelman, where he led key global accounts in the energy sector as a global client leader and chair of Edelman's Energy practice. Prior to this role, Wagner served as the Chair of Edelman's U.S. Public Affairs practice, a press secretary on Capitol Hill and a speechwriter at the U.S. Treasury Department. He brings extensive expertise and client leadership in several of Burson's growth sectors, including automotive, energy and industrials.

"We're thrilled to have Matt join Burson as we continue to commit to investing in top talent and establishing best-in-class client service capabilities," said Global Chief Client and Growth Officer, Michelle Hutton. "As a Global Client Leader, Matt brings strategic perspective and leadership capabilities required to steward our significant client relationships."
