MIO, Mich. - Spectrum, the #1 rural internet provider in the nation*, today announced the expansion of its fiber broadband network making Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services now available to nearly 2,000 additional homes and businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of Oscoda County, including in the townships of Big Creek, Clinton, Comins, Elmer, Greenwood and Mentor.
Spectrum's multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum and will ultimately add an additional 100,000+ miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speeds to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.
"Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities in Michigan and across America," said Chris Spray, Area Vice President for Spectrum in Michigan. "Our investment is providing residents and small businesses superior connectivity at highly competitive prices, backed by a team of skilled local technicians and 100% U.S.-based customer service."
Local residents and business owners should visit spectrum.com/cp/build to learn more about when their home or business may be able to receive Spectrum services.

"Expanding broadband infrastructure is critical to growing our economy, improving educational opportunities, and ensuring rural communities aren't left behind. This partnership is another important step toward closing the digital divide and connecting every corner of Michigan."
Spectrum Internet exceeded advertised download and upload speeds for all tiers measured - even during peak weeknight usage between 7 and 11 p.m. - according to the FCC's most recent "Measuring Broadband America Fixed Broadband Report."
"Thank you to Spectrum for continuing to build its broadband network to unserved parts of District 36," said State Senator Michele Hoitenga (R - Manton). "This infrastructure investment is providing high-quality, reliable internet to many who previously lacked access, and delivering opportunity to the doorstep of thousands of rural residents."
"Spectrum's continued broadband expansion in Michigan is bringing unmatched economic opportunity to our region," said State Representative Ken Borton (R - Gaylord). "High-speed connectivity is essential for success in today's world and bringing more families and small businesses online is a win for our economy."
