On Thursday, Jan. 16, the community gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center for Excellence! The project's vision is to deliver engaging, high-quality educational experiences that prepare individuals for the workforce and foster lifelong learning.
STEAM Center visionary leaders District One Councilmember Andrea Barefield and Deputy City Manager Deidra Emerson.
Soon the old community center will be transformed into a state-of-the-art facility with programs focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math for children, teens, and adults. From its location on the Brazos River, the STEAM Center is a testament to the City's vision for a thriving, equitable, and forward-thinking community.
Longtime champion of the project, District One Councilmember Andrea Barefield, highlighted that the STEAM Center will be a place where every person, no matter their age or background, will have the chance to learn something new, ignite their creativity, and contribute to our city's shared success.
By partnering with local schools and universities, the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center will provide the most up-to-date curriculum and expert instruction tailored to each age group.
