January 14, 2026

As climate change increasingly impacts health outcomes in communities worldwide, the public health workforce must be prepared to lead across disciplines, translate evidence into action, and address complex challenges in innovative ways. To support this growing need, ASPPH will host Career Spotlight: Building Your Career at the Intersection of Climate and Health on January 28 from 1:00-2:00 PM ET.

Designed for early- and mid-career professionals, this webinar will explore practical pathways into climate and health careers, highlighting the skills, experiences, and perspectives most valuable across academia, government, nonprofit organizations, and practice settings. The discussion will be moderated by Dorothy Biberman, MPH, CPH, Senior Director of Global Engagement and Executive Initiatives, ASPPH.

Panelists include Dr. Scott Hemmerling, PhD, Associate Professor of Environmental Health, Climate, and Sustainability at the Louisiana State University School of Public Health; Dr. Christopher Lemon, MD, Faculty Director of Clinical Programs at the Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health; and Jennie McAdams, MPH, REHS, Environmental Health Program Manager at the Delaware Public Health District. They will share insights drawn from ASPPH's climate and health framework and their own professional experiences, offering actionable strategies for building purpose-driven careers at the intersection of climate and health.

We encourage you to register for and share this event with emerging professionals exploring purpose-driven career paths.
