Most City offices, including City Hall, will be closed Nov. 27-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.
Solid waste: There will be no residential collections (garbage, recycling, yard waste or bulk) on Thursday, Nov. 27. If your normal collection day is on Thursday, your pickup will be shifted to Friday; Friday service shifts to Saturday. Bulk collections will resume on Nov. 28. All residential collections will resume normal schedules on Monday, Dec. 1. All residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage next to the cart on their first pickup day following Thanksgiving.
The City's four Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed Nov. 27-28 and will reopen Nov. 29.
Animal Care & Control: North Animal Campus and Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center will be closed to the public Nov. 27-28. Normal operations resume Nov. 29. Both Hulen and Alliance PetSmart Adoption Centers will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will reopen on Nov. 28 from 7 a.m.-9 p.m.
Libraries: All Fort Worth Public Library locations will be closed Nov. 27-28.
Recreational amenities: Community centers will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 26; Haws Athletic Center and Sycamore Community Center close at noon Nov. 26. On Nov. 27, all community centers, Haws Athletic Center, Log Cabin Village and the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge will be closed. Rockwood Park and Pecan Valley golf courses will be open on Thanksgiving Day. All municipal golf courses will be back to regular operating hours beginning Friday, Nov. 28. McLeland Tennis Center will close at 2 p.m. Nov. 26 and be closed Nov. 27.
Water Department: To access the automated system for payments and account inquiries or to report an emergency, call the 24-hour call center at 817-392-4477.
Mass transit: Trinity Metro services will operate on a modified schedule for Thanksgiving Day. Modified service: buses and Orange Line (Sunday schedule with hourly service); Blue Line (every 30 minutes); Trinity Metro On-Demand (Alliance, Mercantile, North Side, Southside, Southeast, South Tarrant: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.). The customer support and solutions team will be available 5 a.m.-5 p.m. at 817-215-8600. No service for Trinity Railway Express (TRE), TRE LINK, CentrePort Circulator, Trinity Metro On-Demand TCC Northeast. Ticket sales kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station will be closed. On Friday, Nov. 28, all services return to their regular schedules except TRE + TRE LINK (operating on a Saturday schedule), CentrePort Circulator (no service), On-Demand TCC Northeast (no service). The ticket sales kiosk will be open 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Customer support will be available 5 a.m.-10 p.m. at 817-215-8600.
City Council: The next meetings will be Dec. 2.
