Elevance Health Receives Interim Response From CMS

Elevance Health continues to have a productive dialogue with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ("CMS") as we seek to resolve the issues raised in its notice dated February 27, 2026, regarding Medicare Advantage risk adjustment data reporting and possible sanctions. To allow more time to address these matters, CMS has granted our request to extend the date that sanctions could be imposed from March 31, 2026, to May 30, 2026.

In addition, CMS has shared that several of our Medicare Advantage plans included in the initial letter will be exempt from possible sanctions, such as our existing employer group retiree plans and certain health plans including: H0629, H1212, H2441, H2687, H4003, H4004, H4694, H4704, H6988, H7220, and H7522.

We stand firmly behind the compliance and integrity of our Medicare Advantage program, which is supported by rigorous oversight, comprehensive monitoring, and established governance processes. This matter does not impact how we serve members today or affect member coverage, benefits, or care. Our focus remains on delivering high-quality coverage and service to our Medicare Advantage members.
