President Itoh and Vice-President Tsuchiya Attend U7+ Presidential Delegates Meeting

On January 26 and 27, the U7+ Presidential Delegates Meeting was held, with President Itoh and Vice-President Tsuchiya in attendance. The meeting was hosted by Tohoku University and brought together 42 participants from 30 universities around the world.
The U7+ Alliance is an international university consortium of 50 universities around the world. Keio University serves as the Chair of the U7+ Alliance. In order to collectively address global challenges, presidents and vice-presidents engage in direct discussions with each other to make proposals to government leaders in G7 countries and beyond.
In preparation for the next U7+ Presidential Summit, scheduled to take place in Paris in April 2026, under the main theme "The Social Role of Universities in a Rapidly Transforming World," participants engaged in lively discussions on the current situation and challenges facing higher education in each country, taking into account the recent international situation.
About the U7+ Alliance of World Universities
The U7+ Alliance of World Universities was established in 2019 on the initiative of the Sciences Po in France. As of January 2026, it comprises 50 member universities from 19 countries. Besides universities from G7 nations, there are also member universities from South Korea, India, Australia, South Africa, Nigeria, and other countries.
