SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay), released the following statement in response to Governor Gavin Newsom's revised 2026-27 state budget, also known as the May Revise.
"I appreciate the Governor's continued commitment to protecting California's stability, strengthening small businesses, and ensuring mega corporations pay their fair share. At the same time, as Chair of Subcommittee No. 1 on health, I am alarmed and deeply concerned by several proposed changes in the healthcare space that could have lasting impacts for working families already bearing the high cost of living.
"Over the past several months, we have held numerous hearings, listened to hundreds of public comments, and engaged in dozens of hours of conversations with patients, providers, advocates, and communities across California. That work will continue to move through this historically transparent budget process.
"The next coming weeks will be critical, and I will continue working closely with my legislative colleagues through hearings and budget negotiations to ensure we deliver a final budget that is just, balanced, equitable and centered on the needs of California families."
