Week's events: Corlis Taylor, book bans, summer arts fest musicians
University of Alaska Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here's what's happening during the week of July 13-19:

On Monday, July 13, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series will honor Corlis Taylor, public health advocate and fiber artist. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.

On Tuesday, July 14, the Healthy Living lectures will pause as the university hosts U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Healthy Living will resume on July 21.

On Wednesday, July 15, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Elizabeth Dawson, assistant professor of library science, presenting "Whose Shelf, Whose Story? Censorship and Book Bans." The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.

On Thursday, July 16, the Music in the Garden concert series will present Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival musicians at both 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at UAF's Georgeson Botanical Garden.
All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha' Campus is free after 5 p.m.
