Railroad Bridge Inspections on Route 9 in Middletown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing a bridge inspection project on railroad bridge carrying CSX Transportation over the Connecticut River starting October 6 through 13, 2025. A webcam showing Middletown Route 9 southbound at Exit 23 - DeKoven Drive is available 24/7 to monitor the traffic conditions.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will intermittent daytime lane and shoulder closures of Route 9 in Middletown between Miller Street and St. John's Square beginning on or about the week of October 6 through the week of October 13, 2025. Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
