In 2024, the 3.9 billion gallons of water delivered to City of Napa customers met all stringent U.S. EPA and State health standards, fulfilling our purpose to provide reliable, high-quality, essential drinking water service to protect public health and ensure quality of life. English and Spanish versions of the Annual Water Quality Report are posted online in the Water Quality section at cityofnapa.org/water. A message on recent water bills alerted customers of the report's direct web address. Along with summarizing regulated substances and the benefits of chlorination, the report describes our water sources and the importance of protecting those watersheds. For ongoing monthly test results and more details about the regulatory standards that ensure public health, visit our Sampling & Testing page at cityofnapa.org/water.
Also in 2024, the City completed its initial Lead Service Line Inventory required by U.S. EPA's Lead and Copper Rule Revisions. Through a review of historical construction records and pipe material type documented during field investigations and maintenance activities, the City determined that it has no known lead service lines in its distribution system. This includes both public mains and customer-owned lines. We have been routinely monitoring your drinking water for lead for more than 25 years and have had no detections at or near the EPA Action Level. The most recent triennial testing in July 2024 showed no lead detected at any of the 35 sampled homes.
Printed copies of the 2024 Water Quality Report will be mailed upon request by calling 707-257-9521. Printed copies may also be picked up at the Utilities Department, 1700 Second Street, Suite 100, or at the Finance-Collection windows in City Hall, 955 School Street.
The City continues to primarily use an electronic distribution method for this report, saving resources and ratepayer funds while still communicating to customers about the health and safety of their tap water.
