Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Lithuania, warmly congratulated the Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre and the people of Norway on the occasion of Constitution Day.
Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė stated her conviction that the close partnership between Lithuania and Norway will continue to grow stronger for the benefit of our countries, our region, and Europe as a whole.
"Lithuania highly values the close friendship and trusted partnership between our countries. Our cooperation is rooted in shared democratic values, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to protecting freedom, security, and peace in Europe.
In today's increasingly uncertain geopolitical environment, unity among Allies is more important than ever. Lithuania greatly appreciates Norway's contribution to strengthening NATO's eastern flank and regional security, including the presence of Norwegian forces in Lithuania and Norway's continued engagement in Allied security efforts.
We also highly value our growing cooperation in the fields of defence, energy, innovation, and advanced technologies, as well as the strong people-to-people ties connecting our societies.
Lithuania and Norway remain united in supporting Ukraine, its sovereignty, and its people. Continued solidarity and determination are essential in defending the principles of freedom, democracy, and international law," stated the Prime Minister in her letter.
