The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST), together with the Korea Arts Management Service (President KIM Jang-ho, KAMS), will run the "2026 Korea Is Performing" campaign from October 1 (Thursday) to November 30 (Monday). Held during the peak performing arts season of October and November, "Korea Is Performing" is an integrated promotional campaign that brings together major performing arts events and performances across the regions to build nationwide enthusiasm for attending performances and raise public interest in the performing arts.

Integrated Promotion of 1,700 Performances Nationwide, Including "Seoul Performing Arts Festival," "Performing Arts Market in Seoul," and "RE:BOUND Festival," to Promote Domestic and International Distribution of Korean Performing Arts

The MCST and KAMS will jointly promote some 1,700 performances staged across the country, linking major performing arts events-including the "Seoul Performing Arts Festival (SPAF)," "Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS)," and "RE:BOUND Festival"-with diverse regional performances in partnership with 16 metropolitan and provincial cultural foundations.

SPAF, which showcases outstanding works from Korea and abroad, will run from October 8 to 25 at venues including the National Theater of Korea, SFAC Theater QUAD, and ARKO Arts Theater & Daehakro Arts Theater. It will present 20 works, including international guest productions, Korean productions, and collaborative works, spanning theater, dance, music, and multidisciplinary arts.

PAMS, which supports the circulation of Korean performing arts at home and abroad, as well as international exchange, will be held from October 13 to 16 at the National Theater of Korea, ARKO Arts Theater & Daehakro Arts Theater, and other venues. It will showcase nine works and support substantive exchange and communication among performing arts professionals through pitching presentations and demonstrations designed to explore circulation and collaboration opportunities, as well as one-on-one business meetings.

The RE:BOUND Festival, which presents outstanding works created and produced in regions outside Seoul on stages in the capital, will run from October 16 to November 14. It will present works by 20 organizations designated as 2026 Regional Representative Arts Organizations at Jayu Theater at Seoul Arts Center and major venues operated by Seoul district cultural foundations.

The 16 metropolitan and provincial cultural foundations will also organize a variety of events, including sharing information on local performances, running audience promotions, and operating promotional booths at regional festivals, adding to the nationwide excitement around the performing arts.

Information on these performances is available on the official "Korea Is Performing" website (www.kstagefesta.kr), while performance-related content on a variety of themes will be provided through its official social media channels, including Instagram (@kstagefesta). In addition to performance information, the campaign will offer tailored recommendations based on genre, companions, and region, with content such as "Performances to Enjoy with Children" and "Performances to Enjoy with Regional Travel." It will also run participatory programs, including events inviting audiences to share performance reviews. Experiential promotions will also be developed using outdoor spaces at performance venues and linking regional performance venues with local restaurants.

Second Round of Performance Discount Vouchers Distributed from September 1; Two Additional Vouchers Per Person for Performances Outside the Seoul Metropolitan Area

The second round of 2026 performance discount vouchers has been distributed since September 1 through five online ticketing platforms: NAVER Booking, NOL, YES24, Time Ticket, and Ticketlink. In particular, four platforms-NAVER Booking, YES24, Time Ticket, and Ticketlink-are issuing two additional vouchers per person that can be used only for performances held outside the Seoul metropolitan area. Arts centers outside the Seoul metropolitan area are also offering on-site discounts for people aged 55 and older, people with disabilities, low-income households, farmers and fishers, and groups of elementary, middle, and high school students.

An MCST policy official stated, "Korea is alive with performances throughout the year, but October and November bring an especially rich lineup of performances and new works. We prepared this campaign so that more people can easily access performance information and make their way to theaters." The official added, "Through the campaign, we hope people will be able to enjoy the performing arts more easily as part of their daily lives and that the performing arts market will gain new vitality."
