Traffic #ALERT: One Deceased in Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood Crash Crash

A motorcyclist has died in a Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood Crash and Southeast 122nd Avenue is closed between Southeast Division Street and Southeast Powell Boulevard for the investigation.

On Friday, January 2, 2026 at 4:55 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a report of a crash at Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Tibbetts Street. When they arrived, officers found a crash involving a motorcycle and an e-scooter. Portland Fire & Rescue confirmed that the motorcyclist died at the scene. The driver of the e-scooter was transported to the hospital via AMR with non-life threatening injuries.

The Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team is responding to investigate. During the investigation, Southeast 122nd Avenue is closed between Southeast Division Street and Southeast Powell Boulevard.
