The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a residential structure fire with injuries of one (1) male subject and caused significant damage to the structure.
On May 02, 2026, at 0610 hours, a fire was reported at 2 Schuyler Court, Newark Delaware 19702. The Christiana Fire Company, along with multiple mutual aid fire companies, responded to the scene and found smoke showing from the 1st floor of an occupied end of row Townhome. Fire company suppression efforts were initiated and searches conducted. Fire Company personnel located a male subject just inside the front entry door and removed the male to the front yard where lifesaving efforts were initiated by New Castle County Paramedics and Christiana EMS. Fire/EMS personnel transported the male to the Christiana Hospital. The male subject was pronounced a short time later.
Investigators from the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the incident.
Damage is estimated at $250,000.00
