Residents in High Fire Severity Zone Encouraged to Sign up to Receive a NOAA Fire Weather Radio
PASADENA, Calif.- The City of Pasadena will distribute free National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather radios in partnership with County of Los Angeles Office of Emergency Management (OEM) starting June 2026. The NOAA Weather Alert Radios are provided by a grant program intended for City of Pasadena residents living within High Fire Hazard Severity Zones and for areas where communications can be challenged by poor cell coverage and/or power outages. Find out if your home is in the Fire Hazard Severity Zone by visiting: CityOfPasadena.net/Fire/Fire-Hazard-Severity-Zones/.
OEM is authorized to use NOAA alerting signals to alert the public in LA County about wildfires, earthquakes and other disasters by sending out an alert message over the NOAA weather radio frequencies. NOAA weather radio is a great step towards a more prepared household.
To receive a radio, you must register online using this form and provide all required information (these radios were obtained through a grant, and this information will only be used for grant auditing purposes). Any incomplete forms will not be processed. Once the form is submitted and processed, residents will be assigned a location/date/time for pick up.
Radios are available on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to one radio per household.
For help filling out the form, please reach out to [email protected] or call Fire Administration (626)744-4655.
