Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Basketball Team’s Successful 2025-2026 Season

The 2025-2026 basketball season has become a landmark year for Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA), marking the most successful run for the school's men's team, the Sailfish, since they joined the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) nearly a decade ago.

A Record-breaking Season

This season, PBA's basketball team is 25-4, with 16 of those wins being against schools in their same conference, resulting in a 16-4 conference record.

In the most recently released National College Athletic Association South Region rankings, PBA was listed as number two out of all the South Region Teams. The South Region rankings include teams from the Sunshine State Conference, Gulf South Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Being ranked second out of the South Region Teams gives the Sailfish a higher chance of participating in the postseason competition.

The Sailfish were also ranked number 12 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches' national poll of the top 25 Division II teams. Out of nearly 300 Division II men's basketball teams, the Sailfish have managed to swim their way to the top.

Next on the Court

The Sailfish advanced to the semi-finals after hosting the first of the SSC tournament games on March 3 in the Rubin Arena at PBA's campus in downtown West Palm Beach, FL, where they faced Lynn University.

Following their successful season, the Sailfish hope to capture their first SSC championship in the team's history. They're keeping this goal in mind as they enter the postseason and face the competition one net at a time, starting with their next game against Florida Southern on March 5 at 7 p.m. in the Rubin Arena.
