The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has announced the results of its 2026 Annual Election. Jennifer L. Nitzky, FASLA, PLA, ISA, AIA, has been elected President-elect and will serve as ASLA President for the 2027-2028 term. ASLA also extends sincere thanks to Christopher J. Della Vedova, FASLA, PLA, for running and contributing to an engaged and future-focused election.
Nitzky is a nationally recognized leader and passionate advocate for advancing the profession. As Design Principal at Studio HIP Landscape Architecture, she leads community-driven work grounded in participatory design, environmental stewardship, and implementation excellence. A landscape architect and certified arborist, she has devoted much of her career to expanding access to high-quality public space-most notably through a long-standing partnership with the Trust for Public Land to transform asphalt schoolyards across New York City into vibrant, green community Playgrounds through student-led, participatory design.
In her goals for ASLA's future, Nitzky has emphasized the Society's power to convene and lead-particularly by elevating awareness of landscape architecture's value, growing the profession through expanded career pathways, and supporting members and businesses with tools, resources, and leadership development.
In addition to the annual election for President-elect, the ASLA Board of Trustees elected new Vice Presidents-Elect for two key program areas:
|
Taylor Keegan, ASLA, PLA, was elected Vice President-elect of Membership. Keegan is the Superintendent for Anchorage Parks and Recreation, where she has built a career in public service at the intersection of planning, infrastructure, and long-term stewardship across one of the nation's largest municipal park systems. She brings extensive ASLA volunteer leadership experience, including service as Alaska Chapter President and national leadership with the Chapter Presidents Council. |
|
Andrew Wickham, ASLA, PLA, was elected Vice President-elect of Professional Practice. Wickham is a landscape architect and lead designer with LPA's Sacramento Studio, with nearly two decades of experience delivering sustainable outdoor environments across California and Texas. He is also widely recognized for professional advocacy and climate leadership, including national committee service and work advancing the profession's climate-positive direction. |
Nitzky, Keegan, and Wickham will be sworn in at the ASLA 2026 Conference on Landscape Architecture in Los Angeles this September.
