On October 26th, 2026 around 5:30 P.M., Spokane police officers responded to the area of W. Maxwell Ave and N. Walnut St for a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

When officers arrived, they located an adult female victim. She was transported to the hospital by AMR with what appeared to be life threatening injuries and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.

Officers learned the vehicle involved fled the scene prior to their arrival. Through witness statements and video footage, they determined the suspect vehicle appears to be a 2009-2019 black Ford Flex. The vehicle likely has notable damage to the front passenger side quarter panel.

SPD's Major Crimes Unit was notified and responded for further investigation.
