HARRISBURG - State Rep. Alec Ryncavage (R-Hanover Township, Luzerne County) today announced his appointment to five influential committees for the 2025-2026 Legislative Session. These include two new assignments to the House Transportation and House Finance committees, as well as returning roles on the Consumer Protection and Utilities, Gaming Oversight, and Local Government committees.
"I am extremely excited to announce my new role as a member of the Transportation and Finance committees," said Ryncavage. "The Transportation Committee oversees critical aspects of the Commonwealth's infrastructure, including roads and bridges, public transportation, railroads, airports and ports. On the Finance Committee, my primary responsibility will be reviewing legislation that impacts Pennsylvania's tax codes."
Ryncavage will continue his leadership on the Consumer Protection and Utilities Committee, where he has played an influential role in utility reform, broadband expansion and protecting consumer rights. On the Local Government Committee, Ryncavage will remain focused on improving the functionality and efficiency of Pennsylvania's more than 2,500 county and municipal governments. On Gaming Oversight, Ryncavage will continue his part to oversee Pennsylvania's gaming industry, including dealings of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
"My role on these committees will directly impact my ability to deliver for Northeast Pennsylvania," Ryncavage added. "From advocating for road paving and infrastructure improvements, holding utility companies accountable, and improving local government operations, to fostering a competitive business environment, these roles have elevated my voice for our region and allowed me to be a backstop against bad policy."
These strategic committee appointments position Ryncavage to have a significant impact on shaping policy that benefits Pennsylvania's economy, infrastructure and communities.
Ryncavage represents the 119th Legislative District, which consists of part of Luzerne County and includes the city of Nanticoke; the townships of Fairview, Hanover, Newport, Plymouth, Rice, and Wright; and the boroughs of Ashley, Edwardsville, Larksville, Plymouth, Sugar Notch, and Warrior Run.
