Joint Study Committee on Evaluating Escalating Costs in Georgia’s Foster Care System to Hold Second Meeting in Atlanta

ATLANTA - The Joint Study Committee on Evaluating Escalating Costs in Georgia's Foster Care System, co-chaired by State Representative Beth Camp (R-Concord) and State Senator Kay Kirkpatrick (R-Marietta), will hold its second meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 9 a.m. in room 307 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta, Ga.

Created by Senate Resolution 622, the Joint Study Committee on Evaluating Escalating Costs in Georgia's Foster Care System will examine the existing framework of the delivery of out of home care services, wrap-around services and all related costs to determine future availability of resources and leverage efficiencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for foster children.
