HARRISBURG - State Rep. Brian Smith (R-Jefferson/Indiana), the House Republican appointee to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) board, announced the investment of $288.2 million into 39 drinking water, wastewater, and non-point source projects across 25 counties throughout the Commonwealth.
Projects include lead service line replacements in Jefferson County, a new treatment building for the Perkasie Regional Authority in Bucks County and improvements to a water treatment plant in Erie County.
"I'm honored to have been appointed to serve on a board doing such important work throughout Pennsylvania," Smith said. "This funding will ensure our water is clean, our communities stay sanitary and we keep working toward a better environment for generations of Pennsylvanians to enjoy."
"PENNVEST's continued focus on improving and investing in our water infrastructure is vital for strong communities," said Executive Director Robert Boos. "This work is accomplished through partnering with community leaders to make these investments to ensure increased access to clean water."
