Camden Park is a brand-new 3.4-acre public park in the heart of Houston's Westchase District. Camden loves giving back to the communities where we live and work and we were proud to sponsor the development of this incredible destination park. The park's name and standout playground feature standout Camden touches! The park features numerous spaces, including an activity lawn with a multi-purpose performance pavilion, a generous promenade circling the park, a fitness area, and more. Camden Park will become a social hub with year-round programming initiatives and a weekly roster of free activities, including educational opportunities, fitness classes, art and music performances, movie nights, and public art programs. The sprawling children's playground is designed to spark imagination. Exciting play features include a glowing crawl-through tunnel, a climbing wall, a slide, and an engaging water zone, perfect for the upcoming summer days. The park's centerpiece is its hummingbird-shaped climbing feature, an homage to Camden's logo! Camden Park is also home to Sunday Press, a welcoming onsite café open daily, offering casual service, an outdoor pick-up window, cozy indoor seating, and access to a covered rooftop terrace with scenic views. Its menu mirrors Sunday Press' Garden Oaks location, featuring fresh pastries, salads, gourmet sandwiches, signature beverages, beer and wine selections. Dog lovers will love Camden Park, too! The fenced-in dog park includes dedicated play areas for small dogs and large dogs, with plenty of seating for pet parents to watch them frolic. Southern Live Oak and Cypress trees, which were due to be removed from areas alongside Beltway 8, enhance the park's natural beauty. Not only have they been given a new life in a fantastic spot, but they're also destined to establish a tree canopy quickly.

Onsite parking is available, with overflow parking at the adjacent Robinson-Westchase Neighborhood Library. Parkgoers also can safely cross Wilcrest using a newly installed, pedestrian-activated mid-block crossing, which momentarily stops traffic to allow pedestrian access. "This is a destination park experience unlike any other in west Houston," says Irma Sanchez, president and CEO of Westchase District. "And as a fully programmed space with year-round activities, Camden Park offers something for everyone-whether it's fitness, arts and culture, or simply a refreshing outdoor escape."
We're excited to see Camden Park's impact on the community it serves. Quality public outdoor space creates economic, environmental, and social value for the community. It brings people together, provides a sense of place, and promotes healthy living and well-being. More importantly, the park program and event calendar will create an inclusive space filled with activities for all area residents.
This weekend is filled with festive activities for the whole family. An Easter Celebration is planned for April 12 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Visit the Easter bunny, explore the park's attractions, and participate in crafts, games, and more. Don't miss it!
