ACHP Vice Chairman Voyles Sends Triumphal Arch Comment Letter to Secretary of the Interior

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) today made comments regarding the proposed Triumphal Arch in Washington, DC, and Virginia via a letter sent to the Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum from ACHP Vice Chairman Travis Voyles.

The ACHP submitted its formal comments on the project as part of the ACHP's responsibilities under the National Historic Preservation Act. Once the Secretary of the Interior considers and responds to the ACHP's comments, the Section 106 review for this undertaking will be concluded.

The ACHP collected public comments on the undertaking and its effects on historic properties in September 2026 and considered that input when preparing its recommendations.

Read the ACHP's October 9, 2026, letter to Secretary Burgum.
