Norton Rose Fulbright advises AtkinsRéalis on acquisition of Irish engineering consultancy TOBIN

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. (AtkinsRéalis) on its acquisition of Patrick J Tobin & Co. Ltd. (TOBIN).

AtkinsRéalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear company with operations around the globe. The transaction, which completed on July 6, 2026, forms part of the company's strategy to expand its technical offering. It will also contribute towards AtkinsRéalis' growth strategy in Ireland - where it has operated for over 25 years - and will increase its local workforce to more than 700 employees, enhancing AtkinsRéalis' ability to support Ireland's ambitious infrastructure development programme.

TOBIN is a leading Irish engineering and project management consultancy firm headquartered in Galway, Ireland. The firm employs approximately 200 people across five offices in Ireland and provides engineering, project management and design services across the building, water and transport sectors.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team advising AtkinsRéalis was led by London-based corporate partner Claire O'Donnell, supported by associates Francesca Walker and Rebecca Bell, and trainee Sipadan Stather. Tax advice was provided by partner Dominic Stuttaford and senior associate Elisabeth Trotter. Antitrust advice was provided by Head of Antitrust and Competition Ian Giles, counsel Shaha El Sheemy, senior associate Georgia Cairns and associate Freya Reevell. Warranty and indemnity insurance advice was provided by Australia Country Head Marshall Bromwich.
