Save Water and Money - Check Your Toilet for Leaks!

Toilet leaks are one of the most common sources of water waste. A single leaking toilet can waste hundreds of gallons of water each month, leading to higher utility bills and unnecessary water loss. To help residents identify leaks, the City is offering free dye tablets at the City Hall front counter located at 10200 Slater Avenue. These tablets are an easy and effective way to test your toilet for hidden leaks.

How to Use the Tablets:

1. Carefully remove the lid from your toilet tank.

2. Drop one or two dye tablets into the tank.

3. Wait 15-30 minutes without flushing.

4. Check the toilet bowl - if the water has changed color, you have a leak.

The most common cause of a toilet leak is a worn flapper valve, which is inexpensive and easy to replace. Please note, the dye tablets are safe and will not stain your toilet.
