On 27 April 2026, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, represented the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, at a reception held on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and the National Day of the Netherlands at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Thailand.
The Permanent Secretary conveyed best wishes to His Majesty the King and reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation on the solid foundation of the close and longstanding relations between the two countries spanning more than 422 years at all levels. She also expressed appreciation to the Dutch side for its support for the "Chud Thai" exhibition held in The Hague from 9 - 10 April 2026, which was graced by the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya as keynote speaker and concluded successfully. In addition, both sides discussed tangible areas of cooperation, including water management, circular economy, sustainable agriculture, and human resource development through support for higher education opportunities for Thai students. The Permanent Secretary underscored the Netherlands' role as the largest investor in Thailand among European Union member states and expressed Thailand's hope to expand cooperation in the semiconductor and digital technology industries. She emphasized the importance of promoting people-to-people ties, exchanges of high-level visits, and cooperation in upholding the rules-based international order amid current global challenges.
