Mercyhealth Foundation is pleased to announce its 2026 Food Fight Against Cancer event.
The event will be held Friday, June 12, at The Wagner House, 1 E. Spring St., Freeport. The evening begins at 5 pm with a variety of delicious bites from local caterers and restaurants. Guests will also hear inspiring stories from Freeport-area cancer survivors and enjoy interactive entertainment from nationally touring magician Josh Weidner. The cost is $40 per person.
A special feature in 2026: One lucky guest will win eight days and seven nights at a choice of select vacation destinations, including Orlando, Hawaii and Arizona.
All proceeds from Food Fight Against Cancer support Mercyhealth Cancer Center-Freeport. The center provides state-of-the-art treatment, allowing patients to receive excellent care without traveling far from family, friends and other support systems. The center's large, airy chemotherapy wing provides patients undergoing treatment a soothing atmosphere with exactly the degree of privacy they desire, along with beautiful views of the healing garden.
"We are pleased that donors to the Mercyhealth Foundation partner with us to offer phenomenal treatment, close to home, where patients and loved ones are treated like family," said Al Evon, Director, Mercyhealth Foundation. "The Mercyhealth Foundation is dedicated to honoring the strength and resilience of people in our community living with and beyond cancer."To learn more about the Food Fight Against Cancer, become a sponsor, or make a donation, contact Chandra Seal at (815) 599-6441 or [email protected], or visit mercyhealthsystem.org/foodfight.
