CBB Governor Participates in the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities’ Governors' Meeting in Abu Dhabi (29 September 2026)

Manama, Bahrain - 29 September 2026: HE Khalid Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), participated in the 50th meeting of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities' Governors, held on 29th September in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

During his participation, HE affirmed the importance of this meeting in strengthening cooperation and coordination among Arab central banks and monetary authorities, particularly in light of evolving global and regional developments. HE noted that these platforms play a vital role in promoting knowledge sharing, exchanging best practices and supporting collective efforts to enhance financial stability and economic resilience across the Arab region.

During the meeting, HE the Governor participated in a session titled "Framework for Strengthening Financial Stability and Macroprudential Policy in Arab Countries", where he shared Bahrain's experience in responding to recent regional developments and strengthening the resilience of its financial sector.

HE also joined the first session of a high-level roundtable titled "Macroeconomic Resilience Amid Geopolitical Turmoil," which brought together Central Bank Governors to discuss policy responses to recent geopolitical developments.

The meeting brought together governors of Arab central banks and monetary authorities to discuss key priorities related to monetary and financial stability in the Arab region. Discussions focused on strengthening financial stability and macroprudential policy frameworks, advancing regional financial initiatives and cooperation, and reviewing key institutional and governance developments to support a resilient and integrated Arab financial system.
