President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Lusaka, Zambia, for a three-day state visit at the invitation of his Zambian counterpart, President Hakainde Hichilema.
He was met on arrival at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, Zambia, by President Hichilema. Also at the airport were Her Excellency Elizabeth Nyantakyi, Ghana's High Commissioner to Zambia, and other officials.
President Mahama, accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, and other officials, will hold bilateral talks with President Hichilema on matters of mutual interest, including strengthening diplomatic relations, enhancing trade and investment cooperation, and exploring collaborative opportunities within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He is also expected to lay a wreath at Embassy Park in Lusaka in honour of the Southern African nation's fallen heroes.
A key highlight of the visit will be an address to the National Assembly of Zambia, where he is expected to share Ghana's vision for a more integrated and prosperous Africa.
His delegation includes the Secretary to the President, Dr Callistus Mahama; the Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to the President, Mrs Joyce Bawa Mogtari; the Legal Counsel to the President, Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew; and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, Stan Xoese Dogbe.
Others are the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP); Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu (MP); Presidential Spokesperson and Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP); Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George (MP); and the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey (MP).
