Eastbound Main St. Closes Between 3rd and 6th Streets; 5th Street Closed at Main Starting Today

(October 20, 2025) As part of the city's downtown reconstruction project, crews will close eastbound Main St. for three days between 3rd and 6th streets this morning to install pavers. The closure will remain in place through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22. 5th St. south of Main St. will also be closed during the same period. Westbound Main St. will stay open, but traffic will shift to the north side of the roadway at the 5th St. intersection. (See attached map (PDF).

During the closures, crews will divert eastbound Main St. traffic south on 3rd St., east on Elm St., and north on 6th St. to bypass the work zone. Northbound 5th St. traffic will detour east on Elm St. and north on 6th St. Detour signs will guide drivers through the area.
