Located in Shenyang, the newly launched hub is the first IRU-accredited TIR facility in Liaoning province, northeast China.
The hub is a one-stop shop for TIR transport companies, customs services and supply chain players, offering: customs clearance, warehousing, cargo handling, route development, and transport-capacity matching.
IRU Director of TIR and Transit Tatiana Rey-Bellet said, "Congratulations to Shenyang on the launch of this new hub. It represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to foster innovative collaboration and unlock new opportunities for cross-border transport and trade."
"IRU will continue to support the development of the hub, creating fresh momentum and space for TIR growth in Shenyang and across China," she added.
IRU Chief Representative for East and Southeast Asia Ran Wang said, "Shenyang has been proactive in developing international logistics corridors and has laid a solid foundation for the hub's opening by actively promoting TIR."
"With strong backing from customs, transport authorities, local governments and industry partners, we will work together to drive its development, seize new opportunities, inject fresh vitality into TIR operations, and advance China's international road transport industry," he added.
The hub, located in the Liaozhong Park of Shenyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, spans approximately 150,000 square metres and is operated by Liaoning Jinhai Holdings.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Vice Mayor of Shenyang, the Deputy Head of Shenyang Customs, leaders of provincial and municipal transport departments, the department of commerce and relevant governments, and organisations such as IRU members GSTIKC and CRTA, and a number of TIR transport companies.
Shenyang is the economic development centre of northeast China. The other three TIR logistics hubs are in Kashgar, Urumqi and Zhengzhou.
