Free Parking in City Garages to End 9AM Wednesday

ANNAPOLIS, MD (January 7, 2025) - During the January 6 winter storm, the City of Annapolis approved the opening of City garages to facilitate plowing operations by Annapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) crews. The free parking period will end at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

PLOW OPERATIONS: Thanks to the contributions of City residents, DPW crews were able to plow and treat all Emergency Snow Routes, all connector roads, and most neighborhood roads over the past 36 hours. Crews will continue to work in 12-hour shifts over the next 24-hour period to ensure that all City roadways are plowed and treated to be at least passable. Residents are asked to use the " Report a Problem" portal to immediately report areas that may have been inadvertently missed.

END OF FREE PARKING : As of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Snow Emergency Routes will reopen for available parking. As of 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, the complimentary parking period will end. In order to not be charged for parking in City garages, remove your vehicle by 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

The City of Annapolis is a small municipality with limited resources for snow removal. DPW crews appreciate the support of the public during snow events. Due to the compact nature of this historic city, heavy snowfall requires crews to sometimes remove snow as well as plow, which can slow operations. As of Tuesday morning, crews are scheduled to continue working 12-hours on, 12-hours off, to service City roadways with a resumption of regular operations due to begin Wednesday morning.
