Full Closure of the Stenmark Drive On-Ramp to Westbound I-580, Located Near the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge, Has Been Extended to February 2027

Scheduled to reopen at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2027.

Contra Costa County - Caltrans District 4 has updated its schedule for the complete closure of the Stenmark Drive on-ramp to westbound I-580, as part of the ongoing Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Open Road Tolling Project. To protect both construction workers and drivers, all vehicles must follow the detour to westbound I-580 via eastbound I-580 until February 1, 2027. This closure will ensure crews can safely realign the westbound Stenmark Drive on-ramp, improving merging and safety with the construction of a dedicated toll gantry. The project may involve working near traffic lanes, moving heavy materials, or operating machinery. Please observe the reduced speed limit. • Take on-ramp to Eastbound I-580
• Take off-ramp to Canal Boulevard
• Go northbound on Canal Boulevard
• Take Canal Boulevard on-ramp onto Westbound I-580
