Congress Flood's Bipartisan Bill Making Accredited Investor Status Merit-Based Included in House-Passed INVEST Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the "INVEST Act." The bill is a package of various measures, including U.S. Congressman Mike Flood's "Equal Opportunity for All Investors Act." Congressman Flood issued the following statement after the INVEST Act's passage.

"The INVEST Act is a bipartisan bill that expands access to capital for small businesses and startups, creates greater opportunity for retail investors, and improves the health of our public markets. I'm particularly excited that one of my bills, the Equal Opportunity for All Investors Act, is a part of this package. Thank you to Chairman Hill, Congresswoman Wagner, Congressman Meeks, and everyone who has contributed to this effort and I look forward to working together to deliver the INVEST Act to President Trump's desk."
The INVEST Act combines various independent bills to achieve the following:
  • Make it more efficient for small businesses to get the money they need to expand.
  • Give more Americans the chance to invest by updating old, burdensome rules.
  • Strengthen U.S. markets so more companies can grow, hire, and go public in America- not overseas.
