Joe & Pat’s Pizzeria: Celebrating 25 Years of Membership

In 1958, brothers Giuseppe and Pasquale made the journey from Naples, Italy to the United States in search of new opportunities. After two years of hard work on the docks, they opened Joe and Pat's, a small neighborhood pizzeria that has endured for six decades and has become a beloved Staten Island institution.

Joe and Pat's have, since then, remained a family-operated business. Current owner, Casey Pappalardo recalls working with his father and learning the ropes from an early age, making his first pie at two years old (with a little help, of course). After exploring different career options, Casey took over from his father in 2015.

Joe and Pat's loyal customer base extends far past its Castleton Corners nestling location. "The number of times I hear, 'we've just got back from Florida, every time we come back to Staten Island this is our first stop before we even go to our destination', that's very nice to see," Casey reflects.

The beloved pizzeria celebrates a proud legacy and tradition of providing a quality dining experience, while preserving the familiar warmth and authenticity that has captured the hearts of Staten Islanders. "We've always produced great products. We take pride in what we do, and we have a good connection to our customers; we just continue to do that," explains Casey "It's great seeing the same faces, and seeing parents with their kids coming in, and seeing those kids get older and come in with their kids. It's amazing."

This year, Joe and Pat's Pizzeria celebrates 25 years as members of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce. As membership precedes Casey's ownership of Joe and Pat's, he explains that being members of the Chamber has presented new opportunities to stay informed on the happenings of the business community in Staten Island.

"The chamber has always been good and helpful to us. They've always reached out and stayed connected with us throughout the years. We appreciate the newsletters and all the information on new programs and resources you provide."
