The City of Santa Fe has launched Ready Santa Fe, a new tool that helps people prepare for emergencies and stay safe within the city.
Ready Santa Fe expands and supports the Alert Santa Fe system, which sends text and voice alerts to residents. While Alert Santa Fe notifies people when an emergency is happening, Ready Santa Fe adds a visual layer by showing where hazards are located on a live map.
The map updates in real time as emergency response staff add information. This helps residents quickly understand what is happening in their area and make informed decisions.
The website, ready.santafenm.gov, provides city-focused map-based information, including active wildfires, National Weather Service-issued weather warnings, air quality conditions, and flood hazard areas. The platform also includes preparedness and resilience information to help residents plan ahead.
"This tool helps people understand where risks are and what they can do to stay safe," said Kyle Morgan, Interim Director of Emergency Management for the City of Santa Fe.
"This allows the Santa Fe Police Department to quickly share road closures and other critical information directly with the public as events unfold," said Ben Valdez, Deputy Chief of Police for the City of Santa Fe.
Ready Santa Fe supports both day-to-day alerts and larger emergency response efforts. During major incidents, the platform can display shelter locations, evacuation routes, and distribution sites as they are added in real time by incident managers.
Ready Santa Fe is an important step toward helping City of Santa Fe residents access clear, timely safety information. Click here to explore the platform. Click here to sign up for Alert Santa Fe alerts.
