The Senate passed Congresswoman Janelle Bynum's (OR-05) bipartisan Servicemember Credit Monitoring Enhancement Act, making it one step closer to becoming law. This legislation expands financial management resources to all servicemembers. The bill is co-led by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21).
Specifically, the bill will extend eligibility for free credit monitoring services currently available for active duty military and full-time National Guard members to all service members, including part-time National Guard members and the military reserve force.
"Our soldiers voluntarily put their lives on the line every day to defend our country and our freedoms," said Rep. Bynum. "They deserve high-quality treatment that honors their service. I'm proud this bipartisan bill helps to finally provide all of those who protect our country with financial stability and peace of mind."
