Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Young Street and Snow Street

Released: June 5, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB- In the early evening of Thursday, June 5, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.

Young Street fire

At 4:58 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 500 block of Young Street.

At the scene, firefighters saw heavy flames and smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 5:38 p.m. Everyone got out of the house before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Snow Street fire

At 5:12 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a townhouse in the 0-100 block of Snow Street.

At the scene, crews saw flames and heavy black smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 5:47 p.m.

Everyone got out of the suite involved before crews arrived. Firefighters helped evacuate neighbouring homes as a precaution. No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
