Summer work to replace gas line will impact campus, East College Way

July 13, 2026

Monday, July 13 through Monday, August 17, Cascade Natural Gas will be replacing a gas line main along East College Way. The work will begin at the south end near the Steam Plant and proceed north. During this stage, gas service to campus will be maintained.

One lane will be kept open during business hours. Full road closures will be scheduled for Saturdays. The parallel parking stalls on the east side of the road will be used for staging and contractor parking. The wide areas of Lot 10G will stay available for parking and EV charging. The trench will be backfilled daily as the contractor progresses.

At least one entrance on the east side of Miller Hall will be open throughout the project; see project signs for the designation.

Expect construction noise, which will be loudest when a rock breaker is used to remove sandstone bedrock. This rock breaking will be intermittent and will occur as bedrock is encountered.
