Lane Closure Scheduled for Interstate 229 Near Exit 4 in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - On Wednesday, April 9 and Thursday, April 10, 2025, a lane closure will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the southbound passing lane on Interstate 229 between exit 4 (Cliff Avenue) and exit 5 (26th Street) in Sioux Falls. Xcel Energy will be pulling wire across I-229 for transmission lines.

This work is part of a larger project to reconstruct I-229 exit 4 as a single point urban interchange. Motorists are reminded to use caution and reduce their speed while workers and equipment are present.
