State Representative Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) today announced that Pike County was awarded funding through the Ohio Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Improvement Program.
"This funding is a strong investment in the safety of Pike County residents and everyone who travels our roads. By improving intersections and adding clearer signage, we are taking meaningful steps to reduce crashes and protect families in Pike County," said Peterson.
In House Bill 54 - Ohio's Transportation Budget, the General Assembly appropriated $185 million in funding each year for continued success of the program.
Roadway safety improvements funded through this round of the grant program will include roundabouts, turn lanes, intersection upgrades, more visible signs and pavement markings, and high-visibility crosswalks, sidewalks, and bike lanes.
