Ready to Simplify Beer Tax Filing? Join the Pilot Program!

This week at the Craft Brewers Conference we talked to brewers about our tax simplification efforts and the opportunity to join the beer pilot program. If you weren't able to attend, or missed us there, not to worry-here is what you need to know!

What is the pilot program?

Pilot participants will prepare and submit the new streamlined tax forms for brewers instead of the Excise Tax Return (TTB Form 5000.24) and the Brewer's Report of Operations (TTB Forms 5130.9 or 5130.26).

You can now stay on top of filing deadlines for the pilot program by signing up for automated email reminders.

Who can participate?

Brewers who hold a TTB-approved Brewer's Notice and who pay their federal excise taxes on beer to TTB on a semimonthly, quarterly, or annual basis are eligible to participate. Brewers under direction to prepay their taxes under 27 CFR 25.173 are not eligible.

Where can I learn more?

Visit our Beer Tax Simplification page for more information, including instructions for participating in the pilot, new pilot forms, and video walkthroughs of the new forms!
