Published on January 09, 2026

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) today released the results of an impaired driving enforcement project conducted in December 2025. The effort was part of the national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.

During the project, officers working overtime focused on impaired driving enforcement, with on-duty officers also encouraged to focus efforts on apprehending impaired drivers. The enforcement campaign was made possible by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.

The highest blood alcohol content tested was a .346, which is more than four times the legal limit of .08. 10 of the arrests were individuals impaired by drugs other than alcohol. Of the DUI arrests, one was for a fourth offense, four were for third offense and 11 were for a second offense. The average blood alcohol concentration of drivers arrested was .170.
