Gaza: MEPs to discuss a post-war future


On Monday after the opening of the session, plenary will assess the latest developments in Gaza, including the ceasefire which began on 19 January, the urgent need to release all Israeli hostages, and ending the humanitarian crisis. MEPs will also discuss how the EU can actively engage with all actors in the Middle East to work towards a two-state solution to the conflict.

Climate crisis: Parliament to debate 2024's record high temperatures


From around 19.00, MEPs and Commissioner Micallef will debate the need for urgent climate action, in light of the record high temperatures in 2024. Last year was likely the first calendar year with a global mean temperature of more than 1.5°C above the 1850-1900 average, with the last 10-year period being the warmest on record.
