Leadership transition underscores the firm's commitment to continuity and culture.
Wyrick Robbins is pleased to announce that Josh Otto has been elected Managing Partner effective January 1, 2026. Otto joined Wyrick Robbins as a summer associate during law school in 2006 and has spent his entire professional career at the firm. Reflecting the firm's commitment to continuity and thoughtful leadership, Otto brings deep institutional knowledge from years of service on the firm's Executive Committee and in leading the firm's attorney recruiting efforts. He succeeds Todd Eveson, who led the firm since 2022 and will continue to serve clients as a partner in the firm's bank regulatory, capital markets, and M&A practices.
During Eveson's tenure, Wyrick Robbins experienced sustained growth across core practices, advising on complex commercial, litigation, regulatory, transactional, and private client matters for businesses and individuals alike. The transition to new leadership was shaped by a shared commitment to stewardship of the firm, its people, and the relationships central to its work.
"It has been a tremendous honor to serve as Managing Partner, and I'm proud of our shared success and commitment to client service," said Eveson. "Josh has been a trusted voice on our Executive Committee and a natural leader within the firm. He understands what makes Wyrick unique - our people, our clients, and the way we work together. I'm excited to see the firm continue to thrive under his leadership."
Having guided the firm through more than three decades of growth, Jimmy Yates, Wyrick Robbins' first Managing Partner and a mentor to Otto, noted the continuity of leadership reflected in the transition. "I've worked alongside Josh for many years and have seen him develop the judgment, steadiness, and leadership skills necessary to guide the firm. He approaches challenges with clarity and practicality, brings people together effectively, and has the confidence of his colleagues and clients alike."
"It's an honor to be asked to lead a group of people who have been like family to me for nearly 20 years. The foundation laid by Sam Wyrick, Larry Robbins, Jimmy Yates, Robert Ponton and many others is so solid, and I'm proud of how we've built upon that over the years, including during Todd's successful tenure," said Otto. "It has been incredible to witness the growth of the firm and our great clients over the years, as we continue to do more and more sophisticated work on a national level, all from Raleigh, North Carolina. But I'm most proud of how our positive, supportive culture remains unmatched in the legal industry."
Otto will continue his law practice, serving as a trusted advisor to businesses and investors on a broad array of corporate transactions and other business matters. He remains focused on building and growing long-term client relationships for the firm.
