News Release > Entergy Texas storm update - 12/29/24, 11:30 a.m.
12/29/2024
Entergy Texas crews continue to make progress restoring power after multiple tornadoes, heavy rain and strong winds caused widespread outages across the region Saturday. As of 11:30 a.m., approximately 9,300 customers are without power, down from a peak of 16,300 customers at 5 p.m. Saturday.
All customers, outside of approximately 6,900 in the High Island area, who can safely receive power are expected to be restored by the end of the day today. High Island/Bolivar Peninsula customers are expected to be restored by 10 p.m. Monday.
Special high-water equipment and additional crews are being used to assist with restoration efforts. Crews will continue working throughout the weekend to make repairs and safely restore power as quickly as possible. High winds, lightning and downed vegetation contributed to the power outages.
