One-Way Traffic Control & Highway Ramp Closure Next Week
State Routes 99, & 165

Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 99 (SR-99) and SR-165 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 99

  • Full off-ramp closure from northbound SR-99 at 16th Street for landscape work on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control on the East Atwater Over-Crossing for utility work beginning Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

State Route 165

  • Overnight, intermittent one-way traffic control from East Wilmott Road to Casa Mobile Park and on Orland Avenue (local street) for striping operations beginning Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, 2026, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • One-way traffic control at Henry Miller Avenue for utility work beginning Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
