Baystar welcomes new executive leadership

Baystar is pleased to announce, in its next step of the partnership between TotalEnergies and Borealis, that Jonatas Melo of Borealis has been appointed as Baystar's new President, succeeding Diane Chamberlain, and Thomas Denni of TotalEnergies will become the JV's new Finance Director, succeeding Shauna Meyer. Both nominations are effective July 2, 2024.

Diane has been the President of Baystar since the Joint Venture formation over six years ago and Shauna the Finance Director for over five years, during which time the company completed two major projects, a one million ton-per-year ethane cracker in Port Arthur and a 625,000 metric ton-per-year new BorstarĀ® polyethylene unit in Pasadena. Following this massive growth phase, the partners' focus is now on delivering the value-added polymers produced with the new proprietary Borealis BorstarĀ® 3G technology in the North American market.

Baystar thanks Diane Chamberlain and Shauna Meyer for their service during the founding years of the joint venture.

With the appointment of Jonatas Melo and Thomas Denni in the next phase of the Joint Venture, TotalEnergies and Borealis strengthen their commitment to the power of partnership in realizing Baystar's strategic ambition.
