WWU Board of Trustees meeting summary for Oct. 16-17

Western Washington University's Board of Trustees met on campus Oct. 16-17, for its first meeting of the 2025-26 academic year.

On Thursday, Oct. 16, the Board heard a presentation from faculty, students, and alumni about the Sustainability Pathways Program in the Methow Valley.

On Friday, Oct. 17, the Board heard presentations on the final fall enrollment report and the Presidential Strategic Enrollment Growth Initiative. Trustees also received information on proposed 2026-27 tuition and fee rates, as well as housing and dining rates.

Following discussion, the Board approved both the 2026-27 tuition and fees package and the 2026-27 housing and dining rates. Detailed information on the cost of attendance for 2026-2027 can be found on the Board of Trustees website:

The Board also approved a two-year contract extension for President Randhawa, extending his term through July 2028.

As part of the consent agenda, the Board approved the FY26 Audit Plan, updates to Student Conduct Code, and a contract amendment for the proposed Student Development and Success Center.

The next regular Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for Dec.11-12, 2025, in Bellingham.
